Fat Loss vs. Weight Loss: Why Should You Care? And My Waist Training Journey

fatlossvsweightloss

Fat Loss vs Weight Loss:

Many people make 3 mistakes when they want to either get more fit or lose weight:

  1. They don’t understand that it’s about fat loss not only about weight loss.
  2. They follow a generic weight loss plan not an individualized one.
  3. They don’t exercise for they body type and body shape.

Fat loss

Fat loss is different than just focusing on weight loss. When you focus on losing fat, you don’t lose your valuable muscle, bone, just water, or your valuable organ tissue which can be lost following a diet that is individualized for you.

It’s really important to get enough protein for your individualized body. A good rule of thump is to eat protein at each meal as a generic baseline.

You can lose FASTER if you get enough protein to help you maintain your current lean body mass. If you do this, you will ONLY lose fat and your journey will be made shorter!! Woohoo!!!

It took me 3 years to lose 100 pounds and it could have taken much sooner if I would have learned this secret.

For a great way to start any fat loss or weight loss plan, a cleanse or detox is a great way to get motivated and help you get started on a healthy life style journey. Here is a detox or cleanse I use often.

Individualized Nutrition Plan

Your nutrition plan should be based on your body not everybody’s body. One way to know how much nutrients you need is from a body composition test. A body composition test will measure the amount of body fat you have, bone, water, and muscle you have on your body. Why is this important? Because you want to know how much each weigh so that when you are losing, it is being lost from fat and nothing else.

I teach people how this is done in my program called Lean Body Principles. You can check it out at www.leanbodyprinciples.com.

Exercise for Best Results

It’s also great to do exercises that are best for your body type and shape and also for the shape you’d like to have. I cover this in my program, but for general purposes, just doing what you love is a great way to get results too.

As for me, I’m working on shaping my waist in a process called waist training and also doing a cleanse and detox. It’s a great way to see faster results.

Here is the cleanse/detox I’m following. If you would like to follow it too, please check with your doctor or health professional first.

Here’s a video I did LIVE on Facebook for a women’s networking group called, Diamonds and Pearls. You can join if you’d like!!

The 21 Day Cleanse/Detox

A cleanse is a great way to jump start any fat loss/weight loss or just to get and feel healthier venture. There are may types of cleanses, yet what seems to be best for a lot of people is to follow a plan that eliminates grains and dairy and eat more ‘clean’ foods like protein that does not have hormones and antibiotics, fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables, and fresh water.

A cleanse or detox can be done with a detox tea or without it and a cleanse/or Detox can be done for 3 days, 7 days, 10 days, or 21 days.

There are a couple of ways I’ve done cleanses in the past:

  1. Incorporating smoothies for a meal replacement for 1-2 of my meals.

Or

  1. Eat whole foods only.

Or

  1. Do both.

Here is an example of a very effective cleanse that almost anyone can do safely. (If you have a medical condition, please consult with your doctor).

Breakfast : 2 eggs cooked any style or Egg white omelet w/green veggies or protein smoothie

Snack: Fruit

Lunch: 4-8 oz. Grilled or oven baked or roasted protein or protein smoothie(chicken, fish, turkey), 2 servings low glycemic vegetables

Snack: Fruit

Dinner: 4-8 oz – Grilled or oven baked or roasted or sautéed protein with t teaspoon of healthy fat and 2 cups low glycemic veggies.

Veggies can be steamed, raw, or lightly cooked with 1 teaspoon of healthy fat.

What is not allowed:

  • No starchy vegetables like sweet potatoes, rice, white potatoes, bread of any kind and pasta.
  • No red meat
  • No sugar
  • No alcohol
  • No dairy

What is allowed:

Protein: all protein must be lean: chicken, fish, turkey, shrimp. Do not eat imitation crab. Also, shrimp is high in cholesterol and sodium so eat no more than 3 times per week.

Vegetables: Low Glycemic vegetables: any green vegetables except peas, tomatoes, peppers (even the colorful ones), onions (white, yellow, and red).

Fruits: Low Glycemic fruits: apples, all the berries: strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, apricots, grapefruit, oranges, pears and peaches.

Healthy fat: Olive oil, coconut oil, or avacado.

Beverages: Fresh water, herbal tea, green tea both caffeinated and decaffeinated. Coffee (no more than 2 cups caffeinated and 3 decaffeinated…too much caffeine can slow down fat/weight loss).

Sweeteners: Stevia

Vitamins/Phytonutrients: always take a multivitamin or phytonutrients because today’s fruits and vegetables do not have all the vitamins and minerals in them due to modern farming methods.

I take a phytonutrient instead of vitamins. The phytonutrients are from a company called Juice Plus+. If you are interested in learning more about it, please contact me: coachingwithkamille@yahoo.com.
