Drugs, forced starving, 8-hour trainings!!?? Is this the REAL Biggest Loser Show? Well it seems some of the contestants are spilling the beans and telling the real behind-the-scene horrors that really happened on one of America’s most viewed TV programs.

The Biggest Loser was never a show I felt compelled to watch more than once. Obese at one time myself, and losing over 100 pounds naturally through a mind, body, spirit approach, I knew the show didn’t promote healthy weight loss and was ridged for sensationalism only.

I mean, why else would you train people until they vomit on national TV, have them doing impossible and dangerous workouts causing embarrassment and humiliation just to get high TV ratings?

In addition, they never focused on real fat loss, just weight loss like many nutritionist, physicians, weight loss gurus, and others toting a book or program for losing weight within the multibillion dollar industry.

That’s when I realized that what I had learned in my career as a medical weight loss specialist and coach for physicians and corporations in North America is what real weight loss is about. It consists of these three things:

  1. Losing fat weight only and sparing your valuable lean body mass, which includes your bone, muscle, and valuable organ tissue.
  2. Following an individually designed nutrition plan that is based on your body composition that also takes in consideration your body type, shape, and metabolism instead of a scripted ‘cookie-cutter’ diet plan.
  3. Being coached from a professional that knows the scientific mind, body, spirit modalities and strategies that will transform your mind and change your habits for good.

When the mind is changed along with the correct nutrition and exercise designed for you as an individual, transformation is possible and lasting.

It is said that all the Biggest Loser contestants have gained the weight back. When weight loss isn’t tied to a bigger purpose, why should anyone keep it off? In addition, the contestants are saying that the process used by the trainers and producers of the show, destroyed their metabolism. It’s not hard to do when a person is not getting proper nutrition and only focusing on fast weight loss.

I’ve been able to get people to lose fat fairly quickly, however, if a person doesn’t do the mental work, they will only gain it back. And their health is my first priority. Here are my average fat loss results:

The Law of Attraction and How I Lost 100 Pounds…& People Mag Cover

It’s been several years since I lost 100 pounds and landed on the cover of People Magazine, interviewed by Robin Roberts of Good Morning America and highlighted on Entertainment Tonight for this accomplishment.

When looking back, I really can say that it was truly due to prayer and the Law of Attraction! But, I didn’t know what I was doing back then. I just remember being at a point where all of my ‘being’ and ‘wanting’ and ‘desiring’ was pin-pointed toward what I wanted and it seemed as if that ‘wanting’ was so powerful, like a big magnetizing ball of energy fueled with tremendous feeling, intensity, and love for want I felt was my only solution, is when the powers that be decided to answer my intention.

After I lost the weight, people who hadn’t seen me for a while would stop me at the most inconvenient times and ask me how I did it. They would ask me while standing in line at the grocery store, or while I was shopping in TJ Max, or in line at the bank.

I remember thinking that just saying I ate healthy and worked out was not really the case. What transpired over a 3 year period could not be summed up so simply. I mean think about it. The mind-set of a 240 pound person to the mind-set of a 132 pound person was totally different and it was the journey of the mind that was really the issue and where all the transformation happened.

I mean, if you think about it. If it was as easy as eating right and working out, then everyone could do it. If it was that easy, then there wouldn’t be thousands of weight loss books on the market and the weight loss industry would not a multi-billion dollar industry now would it?

For this reason, I wrote, Fat Chick to Cover Model. It is a book explaining the journey and what I did exactly. The difference in my story as compared to others is that I lost it with the help of a celebrity trainer and through a process of Mind, Body, Spirit approach.

I’ve always been a spiritual person and I believe that when people try to attempt losing weight without using mental strategies or through a system of spiritual transformation, then the results will not happen for them.

People think that if they simply focus on what they are to eat and how they are to workout then the magic will happen and a new body will appear. But, that’s not the case. The body is very complex and how the body sheds excess weight varies due to several scientific factors.

After losing the weight and I slowing transmuted my career into the medical industry, working with some of the top physicians and surgeons in America and in corporate wellness, I was one of the only medical weight loss specialist with experience working with people of all ages and with every medical condition you can think of.

And through this experience, I gained the knowledge and scientific background to discover a couple of ‘missing links’ in weight loss that I feel, once disclosed, will change the world of weight loss forever.

It’s the Law of Attraction in action. It’s about deliberate creation.

Now, how I got on the cover of People Magazine is interesting. My goal was to be on the cover of Entrepreneur magazine. I wanted to be highlighted as a success in the weight loss industry because my life goals include being a success in health, wealth, love, happiness, and world contribution. I put a picture of my face on the cover and placed the cover of the magazine near my computer so that every time I worked at my computer (which is everyday) I would see it and it and hopefully attract the outcome I was seeking.

Instead of Entrepreneur Magazine, it was People Magazine that approached me, not me approaching them like the rest of the women who were highlighted in the magazine. And I believe it was sheer divine intervention that helped me land on the cover!

I still don’t have the Law of Attraction mastered yet. I’m thinking it’s because it’s not just the Law of Attraction that directs everything, but perhaps a combination of destiny and fate, not quite sure, but I’m still learning.

My next challenge: Rebuilding my body after 2 years of dealing with a spinal condition resulting in major surgery. Everyone can have set-backs, but if I wasn’t healthy, I would not have been able to recover as quickly as I have so far. I’m learning that my health is gift and something that is constant and every changing and to have ultimate health is something I have to earn or make sure I am ‘aligned’ with. It’s something I must respect, cultivate, honor, appreciate and be grateful for continuously. I get to decide. And I choose the best I can be.

If fat had a Name!

 

What if every excess pound of fat had a name? What would their names be?

 

Stress? Shame? Loneliness? Guilt?

 

Anger? Unforgiveness? Depression,?

 

Sadness? Hopelessness? Frustration? Abandonment?

 

The names are endless.

 

For me, every pound that turned me into an obese person represented a feeling that didn’t get expressed fully.

 

It stayed inside my body and instead of being expressed, worked out, worked through, solved and resolved.

 

Then one Thanksgiving, while I was stuffing the turkey (hmmmm, I see an analogy coming on..lol..) I realized that like the turkey I was stuffing, I had been stuffing down my negative feelings.

 

I also felt like that turkey. Like someone else was in control and not me.

 

But, I didn’t know what to do about it.

 

My job was a continuous stress zone. Let’s eat! I was feeling unloved and unfulfilled in my intimate relationship. Eat! My dreams and aspirations seemed too far out of reach. Why not eat? I had too much month at the end of the money. Eating to the rescue.

 

Job cut backs…. eat. Too many bills. Eat. Bored. Eat. AAAHHHHHH!!!!

 

As you can see this was totally getting out of hand!

 

That was 10 years ago and 100 + pounds gone forever since then and a ton of feelings, that one by one, left as each pound was lost.

 

I learned a lot through my journey. I learned a lot through other people’s journeys. I learned that it’s not just about focusing on what to eat and exercise.

 

It’s about finding out what is EATING You!

 

What’s tearing at your heart? What’s ripping at your soul?

 

What is it that you deserve that you are not willing to receive?

 

How about finally, learning how to heal your body and get back the beautiful and amazingly fit, body you deserve.

 

How about finding that body you have hidden deep down inside that is screaming to get out and proclaim to the world, “I AM HERE!”

 

How about being and feeling free and answering to the only name that is authentically yours.
