8 Reasons You’re Not Successful at Getting Your Dream Body


  1. You only focus on what you eat and how you work out – It takes more than just coming up with an eating plan and exercise regime. Have you heard the saying that everything is 90% mental and 10% action? Well, the same holds true for losing fat, gaining muscle, or whatever goal you have for your body. Most diets work. Most exercise programs work. But, if that were all it takes then there wouldn’t be 65% of Americans overweight and obese.
  2. You’re trying to get new results with old thinking – When you use old thinking expecting something different, think again. It’s like trying to win the lottery. The odds are millions to one.
  3. You’re looking for a quick fix – You want to lose the weight yesterday! Rome wasn’t built in a day!
  4. You’re not open to new ways of doing things – My clients who are successful and get their dream body are open to being taught new things; in other words, they are teachable. They understand what may have worked in the past may not work now and are open to growth.
  5. You let your excuses run the show – The voice inside your head that says, “I’m too tired to workout,” or “I already ate ½ the cake, my diet is ruined!” and you listen. Excuses get you nowhere.
  6. You think you can do it alone– Every person who has been successful at anything had a mentor and if not a mentor, they read all the books they could on the subject and became an expert at whatever they wanted to achieve. Even Donald Trump will tell you to seek assistance. That’s what the show, The Apprentice was all about. That’s what an apprentice is, someone who learns from someone else.
  7. Your eyes are not on the prize – Anything worth having takes commitment, effort, and persistence. The greatest motivation is what you want the outcome to be. It’s also knowing what the cost will be if you don’t change.
  8. You may not follow this advice either – Some people have to be facing death before they will change.
